KitColorsPro v3.2.0

Colors & Catalog
How do I find a paint color?

Go to the Colors tab (first tab in the bottom bar). You'll see a list of paint brands with sub-collections and total color counts.

  1. Tap a brand (e.g. Vallejo, Tamiya, Citadel).
  2. Choose a sub-collection (e.g. Game Color, Acrylic X/XF, Model Air).
  3. Browse or search colors inside that paint line.

You can also use the Search field at the top to quickly find a paint by name or code.

How do I convert a paint color to another brand?

Open any color from the catalog, then tap "Similar" to see equivalent paints from other brands.

Results show match percentage, paint type, finish (matt, gloss, metallic, satin), and base (acrylic, enamel, lacquer). You can filter results by brand, paint base, surface finish, and availability in your inventory.

How do I convert from RAL, FS595, or British Standard?

In the Colors tab, switch to the Standards section at the top.

  1. Select a standard system (RAL Classic, RAL Design, FS595, BS381C, etc.).
  2. Browse or search for the color code you need.
  3. Tap a color, then tap "Similar" to find matching hobby paints from all supported brands.
Can I convert from an RGB or HEX value?

Yes. Use the color search tool to enter an RGB or HEX value (e.g. #188AB8). The app will find the closest matching paints from all supported brands, ranked by similarity percentage.

What are conversion filters?

When viewing conversion results, tap the filter icon to narrow results by:

  • Brand — show only specific brands.
  • Paint base — acrylic, enamel, lacquer.
  • Surface finish — matt, gloss, metallic, satin.
  • Availability — only paints in your inventory or wishlist.
How do I hide brands I don't use?

Go to Profile → Brand Settings. Toggle off brands you don't want to see in conversion results. You can enable/disable all brands at once or individually.

Which paint brands are supported?

KitColorsPro includes thousands of paints from major hobby brands including Tamiya, Vallejo, Citadel, AK Interactive, Ammo MIG, Mr. Hobby, Humbrol, Revell, and many more. The database is updated regularly.

If a brand or sub-collection is missing, you can request it through Profile → Support → Request a Brand.

Tools
How do I pick a color from a photo?

Open the Tools tab and select Image Color Picker.

  1. Upload an image from your gallery or take a photo.
  2. Tap anywhere on the image to pick a color with the pipette.
  3. The detected HEX/RGB value appears instantly.
  4. View matching paints from all supported brands, ranked by similarity.

You can filter results and add paints to your inventory or wishlist directly from the results.

How does the Color Mixer work?

The Color Mixer lets you recreate a target color by mixing real paints in precise ratios.

  1. Open Tools → Color Mixer.
  2. Tap "Select Target Color" — choose from a brand color, a standard reference (RAL, FS, BS), or enter an RGB/HEX value.
  3. Add up to 4 paint ingredients from the catalog.
  4. Adjust percentage sliders for each ingredient.
  5. The app shows a real-time similarity score between your mix and the target.
  6. Tap "Get Recipe" to save a repeatable mixing formula with exact ratios.

Saved recipes appear in your mix history so you can reuse them later.

What is the Virtual Painter?

Virtual Painter uses AI to preview how a model kit would look painted in your chosen colors.

  1. Open Tools → Virtual Painter.
  2. Upload a photo of your model kit or use a demo image.
  3. Add colors from the catalog — you can also attach instructions for where each color should go.
  4. Tap "Generate Preview".
  5. The AI recolors the model while keeping its geometry, panel lines, and details intact.

Results are saved to your history and can be downloaded or shared. Each generation uses credits.

Can I add instructions to Virtual Painter colors?

Yes. When adding colors for Virtual Painter, you can tap "Add Instructions" on any color to specify where it should be applied (e.g. "use on wings only" or "apply to inner frame"). The AI will follow these instructions when generating the result.

My Palette & Inventory
How do I add paints to my inventory?

From any color screen (catalog, conversion results, or color picker results), tap the "+" button and choose "Add to Inventory" or "Add to Wishlist".

Your inventory is accessible from the My Palette tab (third tab in the bottom bar). It has separate sections for Inventory, Wishlist, and Mixed colors.

What are Custom Groups?

Custom Groups let you organize paints into themed collections inside My Palette — for example, a palette for a specific project, a shopping list, or colors grouped by vehicle type.

You can create, rename, and delete groups, and add paints from anywhere in the app.

What is the Mixed tab?

The Mixed tab in My Palette shows colors you created using the Color Mixer. Each entry links back to its recipe so you can view the exact ingredients and ratios.

Color Schemes
What are Color Schemes?

Color Schemes (the Schemes tab, second in the bottom bar) let you plan paint projects. Each scheme is a collection of colors assigned to a build.

  1. Create a new scheme and give it a name.
  2. Add colors from the catalog or your inventory.
  3. Attach reference images to keep your visual goal handy.
  4. For each color, you can find alternative paints from other brands.

Schemes sync across devices when you're logged in.

Can I find alternative colors for a scheme?

Yes. Inside a scheme, tap any color and select "Find Alternative". The app shows equivalent paints from other brands so you can swap to what's available in your area or inventory.

Subscription Problems
I purchased a subscription but it's not active

If you purchased a subscription but it doesn't appear active in the app, tap "Restore Purchase" to sync your purchase status.

  1. Open the app and go to the subscription/paywall screen.
  2. Tap "Restore Purchase" at the bottom.
  3. Wait a few seconds — the app will verify your purchase with the store and activate your subscription.

This is the most common fix and works in most cases.

Restore Purchase didn't work — what else can I try?

If restoring didn't help, try these steps:

  • Make sure you're logged into the same Apple ID or Google account that was used for the purchase.
  • Check that the subscription is still active in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; Android: Google Play → Payments & Subscriptions).
  • Restart the app and try "Restore Purchase" again.
  • Make sure you have an active internet connection.

If the problem persists, contact us through Profile → Support → Report a Problem and include your purchase receipt.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your device's app store — not inside KitColorsPro:

  • iOS — Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → KitColorsPro → Cancel.
  • Android — Google Play → Payments & Subscriptions → Subscriptions → KitColorsPro → Cancel.

After cancellation, your premium features remain active until the end of the current billing period.

I switched phones — how do I get my subscription back?

Install KitColorsPro on your new device, then tap "Restore Purchase" on the subscription screen. Make sure you're using the same Apple ID or Google account that was used for the original purchase.

Account & General
Do I need an account to use the app?

You can use most features without an account. However, creating an account lets you sync your inventory, schemes, and mix recipes across devices, and is required for Virtual Painter.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile → Delete Account and confirm. This permanently removes all your data including inventory, schemes, and credits. Cancel any active subscription separately through your app store before deleting.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Paint browsing, color conversion, inventory, Color Mixer, and Image Color Picker all work offline. Virtual Painter requires an internet connection since it uses AI processing on the server.

Is the app available on both iOS and Android?

Yes. KitColorsPro is available on both the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). Both versions share the same features and paint database.

How accurate are the color conversions?

Conversions are based on measured color data. Each match shows a similarity percentage — higher means closer. Keep in mind that real paint can vary between batches, and appearance depends on primer, number of coats, and lighting.

How do I contact support?

Go to Profile → Support. From there you can:

  • Report a Problem — for bugs, crashes, or incorrect color data.
  • Request a Brand — to suggest missing brands or sub-collections.
  • Email — for general questions.
Can I change the app language or theme?

Yes. Go to Profile to switch between light and dark theme, and to change the app language.
